12: December 2005/January 2006
From the editor
Welcome to the sixth and final issue of 2005. As promised last year 2005 was another year filled with exciting soccer events inthe world and much more. However, it was also an exciting year for SoccerCoachingInternational. Besides six issues packed with interviews and articles we also launched a new website. I look forward to another new year, which will be an exciting one for both soccer coaches and fans alike as it is a World Cup year.
This issue gives you a look into Voro’s mind, Valencia CF representative and former player, the third and last in our series of three articles on the Czech FA/UEFA A License Training, Physiology. The second part of James E. Robertson’s series on the performance of soccer players. Another great article by Christian Lavers on defending the 1v1 and Frank Dunne’s contribution from Italy featuring the Brescia Calcio U20 goalkeeping coach. And of course Paul Cooper at the grass roots level with a heart warming story. In this issue you find articles from the Ukraine, Hungary, Netherlands and a new re-occurring feature namely terminology.
Another diverse issue to end 2005 and begin 2006 with a bang. SoccerCoachingInternational is more than just a magazine: it’s the complete soccer coaching experience!
Yours in soccer,
Maaike Denkers
