Lennon new boss St Mirren
St Mirren have confirmed the appointment of Danny Lennon as the club's new manager. A statement on the club's official website on Monday announced that the Scottish Premier League outfit had agreed a compensation package with Cowdenbeath.
Lennon, 40, has led Cowdenbeath to back-to-back promotions in the last two seasons, taking them from the Scottish Third Division into the First. The former Raith Rovers and Partick Thistle midfielder succeeds Gus MacPherson, who was sacked at the end of the season after seven years in charge.
The Buddies were unfortunate to lose the Scottish League Cup final to Rangers in March and managed to stay in the top flight for another season, but the club's board felt it was time for a change of direction.
Lennon will be unveiled by Saints at a press conference on Tuesday morning.
